What if the movies students love can become an engaging way for them to improve their English? This summer, students can choose "Avengers: Endgame," "Spider-Man: Far From Home," or "Jumanji: The Next Level" as the theme for their "English Learning with Film" summer course.
In 10 hour-long classes over 2 weeks, students will:
- Improve reading and listening comprehension with visual and audio cues from film
- Practice speaking naturally like movie characters using speech patterns from film dialogue
- Respond to film through creative and analytical writing
- Expand vocabulary and grammar through close examination of and discussions on film
- Learn to express themselves more effectively by studying the complex emotions in film
